Speaking during an interview on Point Blank show hosted by Tony Gachoka on KTN News, Kalonzo questioned why the suspects are yet to be arrested, and government officials linked to the scandal still in office when millions cannot be accounted for.

He noted that the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) and Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) must pull up their socks in the fight to recover the lost millions.

Kalonzo wondered why there is no information about the progress of the scandal when the matter is of great importance, adding that if the issue is not addressed with the seriousness it deserves, then the country is doomed.

“If there are prosecutions, time is of extreme importance otherwise we will have no country to talk about,” said Kalonzo as quoted by Standard.

During the interview, Kalonzo, who was recently named South Sudan Special Envoy by President Uhuru Kenyatta, said that the country has continued to lag behind in terms of development because of massive cases of corruption.

He noted that until these cases are handled in a quick manner,  we are destined to fail as a nation.
