Kisii County Governor James Ongwae has issued a statement ahead of the much anticipated Kisii Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) show 2019 which will run from Thursday, July 11, 2019 to July 14, 2019.
Speaking in his office on Wednesday the governor urged Kisii residents to turn up in large numbers for the event.
"As the governor of Kisii County, I take this opportunity to welcome everyone to the Kisii ASK show 2019 starting tomorrow, Thursday to Sunday. The Theme for this year's ASK show is 'Promoting Innovation and Technology in Agriculture and Trade'. Farmers will be educated in various profitable modes of farming such as zero-grazing, poultry and horticulture through agribusiness," stated the county boss.
He reiterated the county government's commitment to boosting agriculture across the county, noting that agriculture is the backbone of the country's economy.
The county boss further appealed to residents to take advantage of the show to learn modern methods of farming to boost their agricultural produce.
Ongwae assured the residents that security will be heightened during the day as well as at night in a bid to curb crime.
"Residents and visitors planning to attend the Kisii ASK show 2019 should not fear because we have enough police officers to provide security," he added.
