Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o now says that his new book seeks to champion for the return of the parliamentary governance system.
The book dubbed "Presidential or Parliamentary Democracy in Kenya?" was relaunched at Maseno University in Kisumu on Friday, after the first launch at the University of Nairobi.
The launch comes at a time when the nation is locked up in a heated debate, with a section of politicians pushing for constitutional changes to revert the nation to the old parliamentary system.
The governor says that he wrote the book to stress on the need for a move from the current presidential system with an aim of restoring political order in the country.
The county boss said that it's only through the changes that Kenya can address the current governance challenges, which have been brought by the current system.
"I wrote this book to make the case for a parliamentary system in Kenya to replace the current presidential system. This is the direction we should take, in order to address a number of challenges in the present governance and political order in this country," he tweeted, Friday.
Among the notable national politicians who have backed the calls include National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale who has said that the same will ensure equality in running the government.
The country abandoned the parliamentary system after embracing the 2010 constitution which stopped the initial case where ministers were picked from Parliament.
