It has emerged that he on Thursday held a closed-door meeting with local leaders in Mata. A meeting that was allegedly organized by Taveta MP Naomi Shaaban.

She is said to have urged those in attendance to only elect people who believe in the Jubilee manifesto, and who can help the party realize its future goals.

"I have come here to meet you so that we can strategise together on how to conduct peaceful party elections come March this year. We want the party to unveil its office bearers to propel the party to greater heights of development in future,” she said.

The meeting began at 12:40 and was attended by among others, Andrew Mwadime (Mwatate), Janes Mlolwa (Voi) and County Woman Representative Lydia Haika.

MCAs present included Paul Kangethe (Marungu), Godwin Kilele (Sagala), Ronald Sagurani (Minority Leader) and nominated MCAs Frank Mmare and Maria Chao.

The paper indicates that the attendees were ordered to produce their ID cards before being allowed in.
