Deputy President Dr William Ruto has hit out on the ODM party leader Raila Odinga over his remarks on allowing leaders opposing the BBI to attend the coming rallies.
Speaking at Embakasi East, the DP said that Raila has no power to allow the elected political leaders opposing the BBI to attend the rallies revealing that the crafted document was not put together for individuals.
“Who are you to give people permission to attend BBI rallies. (Wewe ni nani sasa unatoa ruhusa ya watu kwenda mkutano ya BBI),” DP Ruto posed, according to Citizen Digital.
This was a response to the Raila's early remarks when he said that legislators from Ruto's camp are free to attend BBI meetings countrywide, the latest one being scheduled in Mombasa on Saturday.
Early on Thursday, the ODM party leader met Mt Kenya senators in Nairobi where they discussed the BBI content ahead of of the February 15 Meru rally that's scheduled to popularize BBI in Mt Kenya region.
Raila also used the chance to address critics from Ruto's allies who claim that he is using BBI rallies to popularize himself and get into power in 2022
“It will be misguided and unfortunate for anyone to think they can sabotage the BBI exercise…… I have not said I want to be president in 2022, that is how misguided people are,” he said.
