President Uhuru Kenyatta has been invited to open the Kikuyu community prayer shrine on the foot of Mount Kenya in Narumoru.
The head of President Uhuru Kenyatta State will unveil the shrine during the tour the region.
Kikuyu Council Elders (KCE) has confirmed the invitation, saying that the President will also be joined by elders from the region during the event as 2022 politics continue to take shape before that time comes.
The 100-acre shrine is located at Kiambuthia inside Mt Kenya Forest in Nyeri County.
He is also expected to hold a series of meeting with a group of Former Freedom fighters as well as high priests at the Sagana State Lodge during the tour to the region.
KCE National Chairman David Muthoga has said that the tour of the president is slated to take place on November 15.
Muthoga said that he has met officials from State House on the tour to the region.
“I was at State House after writing a letter to the comptroller. I was told the meeting is being arranged. He will come on November 15. He will meet the Kikuyu elders and tour the sacred shrine,” said Mr Muthoga, as quoted by Daily Nation.
The president is expected to address various issues during the tour including handshake and succession politics among others.
The meeting comes amid alleged fallout between Uhuru and Deputy President William Ruto.
