A man is on the run after allegedly killing his younger brother after a disagreement in Kipchumwa Location, Marakwet East.
Area chief Richard Chelimo said the suspect killed the deceased after a fight emanating from the sale of a family cow, which the deceased wanted to sell to raise school fees.
He said the suspect was not happy with the victim's plan to sell the cow to raise school fees for his child, and opposed the plan, resulting in an argument and later a fight.
The local administrator noted that the deceased succumbed to arrow shots, adding that the suspect brought out his bow and arrow after the deceased attacked him with a machete.
“The younger brother, now deceased, grabbed a machete and attempted to attack his brother. When the elder brother saw his brother was determined to slash him, he rushed to his house and came out with a bow and arrows and shot him several times,” he said as quoted by Standard.
The chief said he was shocked by the incident since he had never received complaints from the brothers before, adding that the suspect is yet to be arrested.
The deceased died while being rushed to hospital. His body was taken to Kapsowar Mission Hospital Mortuary.
