Political analyst Prof Edward Kisiang'ani now says the defence by ODM leadership on the extension of Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) task force tenure is suspicious.
Kisiang'ani wondered why only the Raila Odinga-led party was strongly supporting extension by President Uhuru Kenyatta last week.
"Is it by coincidence that only the ODM leadership knows, understands and defends the reasons why the tenure of the BBI team was extended?" the university professor posted on Tuesday night.
His remarks came barely hours after Raila asked Kenyans to support the Garissa Senator Yusuf Haji team, which is about to start crisscrossing the country collecting more views on the report which was unveiled last month.
"It is my appeal to all Kenyans to prepare to engage the real BBI team that will be going around the country explaining the document with a view to having all shades of opinion captured. We should treat this as a chance for the nation to talk to itself about its future," the ODM boss tweeted.
Suna East MP Junet Mohamed also supported the extension of the tenure and dismissed claims it was meant to alter the report to suit interests of certain politicians.
"The report is now being subjected to a wider audience by the same task force. We should not look at it like the task force will come up with a different report from the first one. I think it will be a stronger report," Junet said on a televised interview on Tuesday night.
