Nominated MP David Ole Sankok has claimed that the Kieleweke faction of the ruling Jubilee Party is working under instructions from outsiders.
The group founded by Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has been fighting Deputy President William Ruto and has openly declared its opposition to his 2022 presidential ambitions.
The Jubilee lawmaker now claims that the group is an extension of the opposition's Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) which is led by Raila Odinga.
However, he said that the group whose name translates to 'it shall be understood' is a combination of confused fellows, renaming it 'Kutoeleweka' (not understood). Sankok was speaking on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi show on Wednesday night.
He added that Raila has managed to poach the Jubilee members under the umbrella which is normal in politics, and he too has lost Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok.
"Not being understood is ODM and ODM is not being understood. There is no problem with people defecting. The other day we saw Nanok defecting to Jubilee from ODM (Kutoeleweka ni ODM na ODM ni Kutoeleweka. Na si vibaya kama kuna mtu amedefect. Hata juzi Nanok amekuja Jubilee na amekuwa ODM)," he said.
Kieleweke has been holding church rallies almost on a weekly basis where they have been condemning the DP for engaging in early politics, in defiance to President Uhuru Kenyatta's calls for political calm.
However, their remarks have not been going down well with the rival Tangatanga group which is made up of pro-Ruto members, and which has been responding to their attacks.
