Kenya Soccer team coach Sebastien Migne has heaped praise on Harambee Stars after a thrilling comeback against Tanzania’s Taifa Stars.
In an interview after the entertaining match, Migne said that the team deserved victory after they came back twice to seal a 3-2 win against the neighbours in an Africa Cup of Nations Group C match at 30 June Stadium in Cairo Thursday night.
The head coach said that he reminded the players not to despair after they conceded two goals in the first 45 minutes of the match.
He noted that he is delighted with the performance showcased by the National team and that it took teamwork for the players to outsmart the competitors in one of the most watched matches in Egypt.
“I told the boys at a half time never to give up. I am happy because of the team spirit. We showed some quality and showed that working together everything is possible,” said Migne, as quoted by Daily Nation.
He also revealed that Harambee Stars Captain Victor Wanyama had offered dinner to the players as a way to celebrate their victory before their clash with Senegal.
Several leaders including Deputy President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Amolo Odinga have also complimented the team.
