Controversial Kenyan pastor James Ng'ang'a of Neno Evangelism has come under criticism yet again after he made a comment that many have interpreted as advocacy for rape.
In a viral video in which he was responding to the male members of his church who had demanded an apology from him for threats issued against them, Ng'ang'a boldly boasts of how the men had neither gone to jail nor raped women.
"Don't try to threaten Ng'ang'a. You have not gone to jail, you have not raped women, you don't know anything. You just came out of school and got born again.
"I have gone through threats...and if you want to talk then do so at your church with those who believe in you, I don't believe in you. If I believed in you I would have opened this church together with yours. I am done with that, I know it will trend."
(Usijaribu kutisha Ng'ang'a. Tena wewe haujaenda jela, wewe hauja rape wanawake, wewe hakuna kitu unajua. Wewe umetoka tu shule ukaokoka. Mimi nimepita matisho. Na kama utaongea uongee kwa kanisa yako na wale wanakuamini, mimi sikuamini. Kama nungekuamini ningefungua hii yangu na yako. Hiyo nimemaliza, najua ita trend)," Ng'ang'a said in the viral video which was shared by popular Comedian Jalang'o.
A section of the netizens who interpreted Pastor Ng'ang'a's sentiments as admission to rape went ahead to ask the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to investigate the claims made.
