Police in Eldoret have arrested a sex worker in Langas estate on the outskirts of Eldoret town suspected to have stolen Sh50,000 from a man believed to have been her customer.
According to Uasin Gishu County Police Commander Johnston Ipara, the lady is suspected to have put some drugs in the drink of the man who fell asleep before she stole from him.
“On Saturday our officers who were on their line of duly arrested one suspect by the name Doris Kinya who is suspected to have stolen money from one person in a restaurant in Langas, Kapseret Constituency,” Ipara said.
“After police searched the suspect's house, they got some drugs which we suspect they use to give people before stealing from them,” he added.
The drug was identified as 'Kiboko ya majini'.
The police boss spoke to the press at Eldoret Central Police Station on Monday where he called on residents with similar cases to present themselves to the police and identify the suspect for her to face other charges.
Ipara also gave a warning to owners of Bars and Restaurant that if any case will be reported of a person being corned by sex workers in their business, their licenses will be revoked and taken to court with the suspect.
