A section of Kapkoiga residents in Moiben, Uasin Gishu County are living in fear after a lion attacked, and killed their livestock.
Led by Timon Too; a resident and one of the victims of the attack, the residents said the lion had already killed two cows, adding that things would get worse if nothing is done.
"As residents of Kapkoiga village we are now living in fear since we are continuing to lose our animals, and despite us hearing our animals being attacked, it is hard for us to go outside since we might lose our lives. We need the government to help us,” he said.
Addressing the press on Friday, Too said they are now forced to come home early since they fear being attacked by the stray lion.
He urged the Kenya Wildlife Service to swing into action and save them from further incurring further losses.
"We are now calling on the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) to take action immediately by taking into custody the lion that is disturbing residents before it kills more animals and people," he said.
KWS is yet to issue any communication regarding the stray lion.
