Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Director of Communications Philip Etale has reacted to Punguza Mizigo's latest rejections.
The bill which seeks to amend the Constitution was on Tuesday rejected by members of both the Nairobi and Nakuru county assemblies, further dwindling its success chances.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Etale said the bill is headed for tough times ahead, terming the rejection the fruits of arrogance from its backers.
"Punguza gunia is headed south. Hehe. Fruits of arrogance," wrote the close ally of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who had also poked holes into the bid.
Speaking when he toured Migori County in August, Raila urged the region and his Nyanza bedrock to lead the way in rejecting the same.
“These issue of Punguza Mizigo, Punguza Punda we don’t know, we want Migori County Assembly to reject the bill once it is brought in the assembly for debate,” he said.
But Thirdway Alliance Party Leader Ekuru Aukot has blamed the rejections on alleged bribery, claiming that some state officials have been paying the MCAs to reject the bill.
It seeks to among others, reduce elective representation and abolish a number of seats, including Deputy Governor and Woman Rep seats.
