Led by their chairman Dennis Rosana, they said the market lacks stalls for traders to use in their daily businesses.

"The market has a capacity to accommodate over 1,000 traders but due to lack of business stalls traders have been operating at the roadside because customers don't go deep in the market to buy commodities," he decried.

Rosana, the former councillor in the area, appealed to the county government led by Governor John Nyagarama to move with speed to construct modern business stalls for traders to use.

"Traders selling eggs and milk incur losses daily because eggs broke and milk is poured when traders are move from the roadside in fear of being hit by speeding Public Service Vehicles (PSVs). Let Nyagarama's administration come to the traders' rescue," he stated.

Another trader Margret Ombuna, a vegetable vendor, wondered why the county government of Nyamira is taking too long to construct stalls yet traders pay daily tax.

"We depend on businesses to provide for our families but due to unfavorable business environment we are unable to run our businesses smoothly. As traders we urge Nyagarama and his team to intervene," she stated.
