Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has said that MacDonald Mariga has sent ODM camp into panic mode after he declared his interest in the Kibra by-election.
In a tweet, the former lawmaker said that the recent remarks of leaders allied to Raila are a clear indicator that all is not well in the political outfit.
While responding to Ida Odinga, Khalwale said that Mariga has proven that he is indeed a force to reckon with in the political arena. He reminded Ida that the likes of George Weah excelled in the field of politics.
"Mariga has sent the fear of the Lord in the ODM! None other the respected Ida Odinga has today advised that as a footballer Mariga will fail politically. Mama, celebrated footballer, President George Weah of Liberia, has succeeded where many Kenyan presidential wannabes didn't," he tweeted.
Ida had said that Mariga made a grave mistake when he decided to join politics. He reminded him that it could have been wise had he remained in football after he announced his retirement.
“Think of Mariga, I cannot use that as a good example because when he changed the profession you see how he failed. If he would have stuck to football, he would do much much better," she said.
