Police officers in Keumbu, Nyaribari Chache constituency in Kisii on Sunday arrested a driver who hit a man and fled.
Kisii County Commissioner Godfrey Kigochi while speaking in Kisii town said the driver sped off after the accident but, he was arrested in Keumbu.
"The driver fled the accident scene in fear for his life. Police officers from Keumbu police post coordinated and apprehended the driver in Keumbu," he stated on Sunday.
Kigochi said the killer driver will be arraigned in court on Tuesday to be charged over murder and serve as an example to the rest of drivers fond of over speeding.
He warned drivers plying the busy route to drive cautiously saying accidents may be on the rise.
"Drivers mostly those driving Probox cars plying the Kisii-Keumbu route must adhere to the set traffic road rules to curb road accidents. Police officers manning roadblocks will not condone reckless drivers," said Kigochi.
The security boss appealed to residents travelling to various places to report drivers who drive at high speed.
