Kerich was appointed through an Executive Order dated July 18.

The CEC will coordinate a number of projects and programmes in ten departments.

Among departments in question are, ICT, Devolution, Health, Environment and Water, Education among others which Kerich will coordinate their projects.

According to Sonko, the decision was based on efficient coordination of programmes and projects which is also in line with article 179, section 35 of the constitution.

“Having considered the above in light of the current structure of the County Government Administration, there is a need to appoint a County Executive Committee Member in charge of implementing and coordinating various programmes and projects,” Sonko stated.

According to the Executive Order, Kerich is mandated to “oversight implementation and communication of all county government projects and any other function ancillary to the above as may be directed by the governor."
