An in-depth analysis on Central Organisation for Trade Unions boss Francis Atwoli's speech potrays ODM leader Raila Odinga as indispensable politician with mysterious ability.
In 27-minute speech on Friday, Mr Atwoli narrated incidents that makes him believe that Mr Odinga is the greatest politician to have ever lived.
According to Atwoli, Raila's mysterious ways of politicking makes him admired by most of his supporters and those who despise him as well.
For instance, Atwoli said, Mr Odinga works smartly by organising events and attending all of them despite having worked until late the previous day.
"You can stay with him until late in the evening and by the following day when you're still in bed, you'll see him on TV 500 kilometers away being installed as an elder.
"Infact, he's loved my many and loathed in equal measure. Those of us in the activism, see him as a true hero and without him, Kenya won't be the same," he said.
The most frightening part is when Mr Odinga, having been released from prison for the third time, had to escape the authoritarian KANU government in 1991 to Norway.
After his release, he disguised himself using a different name, escaped to Uganda, where he changed passport and flew to Norway.
"But despite the punishment, Odinga returned in 1992 and was elected to parliament in Lang'ata to signify his freedom fighting abilities," Atwoli said.
In 2002, Mr Odinga endorsed retired President Mwai Kibaki, who beat Uhuru Kenyatta then. After fallout, he ran against Kibaki and claimed victory in 2007.
Last year, Mr Odinga, who was unpopular in Mt Kenya region, reconciled with President Uhuru Kenyatta, a move that caught their handlers flat-footed.
At the moment, most of his political competitors are unsure about his next move, with DP William Ruto's team insisting that he will be on the race in 2022.
