Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officers in Lamu are probing the death of their colleague who was found dead on Sunday.
The body of the the military officer was found lying dead in a bush, only moments after he was seen running by the roadside taking off his clothes.
The incident was confirmed by Hindi Member of County Assembly (MCA) Anab Hajj, who said that the body was lying near his pants.
This was after sources said that saw him running while removing his attire and boots, before his trousers were found hung on a tree near his dead body.
His fellow officers have since took his body which will be be subjected to a postmortem to establish the cause of the death before it is taken to his home for burial.
The county has had a presence of the army men who were deployed there for the Operation Linda Boni, a campaign to flash out Al-Shabaab terrorists thought to have been hiding in the Boni forest.
The operation began in late 2015, at a time when militants deployed by the Somali-based terror group had made it s habit to attack innocent Kenyans.
This was in protest against KDF's presence in Somalia as part of the African Mission in Somalia (AMISOM), a joint force of military forces drawn from across the continent.
