Police in Gesiaga area of Nyamira South Sub-County on Wednesday morning arrested a 40-year-old man for allegedly raping his14-year-old daughter.
Confirming the incident on Wednesday, area chief Gerald Gekondo said the matter was reported to him by the wife of the alleged rapist.
“The man identified as Antony Okinyi is said to have raped his daughter on Tuesday with an aim of confirming whether she was still a virgin and the matter was reported to me on the same day by his wife,” said Gekondo
The chief further said he informed police in Nyamira who arrested the man in the wee hours of Wednesday morning at his home in Gesiaga.
“As we speak the man in police custody and the girl has been taken to Nyamira Level Five Hospital for further examination and tests if she was infected with any disease by the father before he is arraigned in court,” said Gekondo
The administrator warned such men and said the act is primitive and the Government will ensure that serious action is taken against the man for defiling the daughter.
The locals were called upon to ensure they report such incidents to the local administration for further action.
