Nyamira Woman Representative Jerusha Momanyi has commended police officers across the region for tightening security during this festive season.
Speaking on Thursday in North Mugirango constituency, she said police officers have done a good job offering tight security to residents.
"I want to congratulate our security officers for intensifying security patrols, especially at night to ensure our people are secure during this festive season. Our brothers and sisters in the police force need to be appreciated," he stated.
According to the lawmaker, Nyamira has in the past been prone to cattle theft during the festive season but things have now changed.
She argued that residents are celebrating the festive season without any fear of cattle rustling raids.
"In the past Nyamira was experiencing cattle rustling but due to beefed-up security, cases of livestock theft have gone down to zero during this festive season. I urge residents to cooperate with our police officers to flush out criminals," she stated.
In matters politics, she challenged local leaders to support the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
