Just few hours after promotion of Dr Fred Matiang'i to what is seen as 'Super Minister' or Prime Minister for lack of a better term, Gusii leaders have continued to hail President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Earlier on Saturday, Woman Representative Jerusha Momanyi and Speaker Moffat Teya had hailed the president for adding more tasks to Dr Matiang'i.
At Nyansiongo on Sunday, Borabu MP Ben Momanyi said elevation of Dr Matiang'i was a reward to hard work and commitment, adding that it's also an honour to Abagusii community.
"When someone is given additional tasks, it just shows the level of confidence the president has. This is also a huge honour to the community," said Momanyi.
The Parliamentary Service Commissioner added: "As leaders, we should closely work with him to spur development in our county. We should also give him moral support."
Senator Okong'o Mogeni, who has been pushing for Matiang'i presidency, said President Kenyatta means well to the people of Nyamira.
The senior lawyer also urged local leaders to work closely with Matiang'i as a show of solidarity with him to his new tasks as the supervisor of development.
"We have someone who will now be coordinating development. As leaders, let us support him so that he realises the huge task ahead of him."
Through an executive order, President Uhuru Kenyatta moved Presidential Delivery Unit to Matiang'i's office. He will formally launch, monitor and implement government projects.
Also, the department of immigration, which is also crucial in citizen services, was moved to Interior ministry, which is under the minister.
Dr Matiang'i has also been chairing cabinet sessions, making him a Prime Minister so to speak. He is a close ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
