A NASA rebel Member of Parliament has been warning against undermining Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i at the expense of pleasing Deputy President William Ruto ahead of the 2022 polls.
Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka on Wednesday said South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro must respect Matiang'i.
Onyonka argued that Osoro joined DP Ruto's camp at his own will and therefore he should respect Matiang'i.
"He (Osoro) has a right to join any political camp he wish ahead of the 2022 polls. But, I am opposed to him disrespecting Cs Matiang'i. I urge the MP to mind his own business and focus on selling DP Ruto without dragging Matiang'' along," stated Onyonka.
According to Onyonka, should Matiang'i vie for presidency in 2022, DP Ruto should be prepared to go home early in the morning.
"Matiang'i's track record is good compared to DP Ruto who has been linked to corruption scandals.
"He (Matiang'i) has high chances of becoming the president in 2022 because even President Uhuru Kenyatta trusted Matiang'i to the extent he promoted him to coordinated national government development projects across the county," argued Onyonka.
