Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen has assured the nation of his wellness after a scary landing during a soccer match in Kitui County on Monday, September 16.
The Elgeyo Marakwet senator landed on the grass less pitch during a match pitting the Senate and the Kitui County Assembly, which led many into thinking he was badly injured.
In a tweet later in the day, he confirmed that he escaped with a shoulder injury after landing on his right shoulder, and tore his tendons, but noted that the injury is not as serious.
"Today during a football match between Senate and Kitui County Assembly I fell down and landed on my right shoulder tearing my tendons,” he tweeted later in the day.
The Senator has since been referred to Nairobi for further treatment after being attended to by medics at the Jordan Hospital in Kitui.
He thanked the medics who attended to him, and said he will be back on the pitch once he is back in shape, due to his love for the sport.
"I thank Dr Matu, paramedics and Senate first aid team for attending to me. I have been referred to Nairobi for a small procedure. I will be back. I love this game," he added.
