Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has finally broken her silence over rapper King Kaka’s Wajinga Nyinyi composition.
In a letter shared on her official Twitter handle, the county boss has asked the singer, whose real name is Kevin Ombina to apologize and pull down the song or else he will face legal action. The first-term governor has accused the singer of defamation and vowed to take action against him.
The Former Devolution Cabinet Secretary has given Ombima 48 hours to apologize failure to which she will take stern action against him. Her lawyer said that the governor has never been charged in a court of law over the National Youth Funds.
“You ought to have known that despite extensive investigations and several prosecutions in relation to the loss of funds at NYS, our client has never been charged in a court of law as an accused person in relation to NYS or any other scandal ...,” reads the letter in part.
King Kaka’s song has continued to elicit mixed reactions from different factions. In the song, the singer tries to point out some of the mega scandals that have rocked this nation.
He questions Kenyans why they have left the government to frustrate them in their motherland. The singer has been decrying death threats after the release of the song.
