Police in Bomet County are holding a 16-year-old boy in custody over allegations of murdering his elder brother.
The class eight boy is accused of killing the brother, after being angered by him allegedly battering his wife.
The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) candidate reportedly attacked the deceased with a knife at his home in Kiplabotwa location on Tuesday.
Area chief Stanley Towett confirmed the incident, adding that an argument ensued after the suspect sought to know why the deceased was battering the woman.
He said that on rushing to the scene, he found the deceased still alive but heavily bleeding from his wounds in the stomach.
"He had gone to visit the brother and found him beating his wife and started questioning him before a quarrel ensued," said the administrator as quoted by Standard..
The deceased reportedly succumbed while being rushed to the Longisa County Referral Hospital for medical attention.
A neighbour said the couple is not new to domestic fights, and have been having feuds and violent encounters.
“Initially when we heard screaming and wailing, we thought it was the deceased and his wife who often engage in feuds and domestic violence,” said Erick Ruto.
The body of the deceased is being preserved at the Longisa County Referral Hospital mortuary.
