1. Nairobi National Museum
The Nairobi National Museum is located on Kipande road. The place is cool and holds Kenya's rich heritage. You can either visit this place for leisure or educational purposes. The place also has dining and shopping facilities. Additionally, it houses an awe-inspiring botanical garden that is perfect for picnics.
2. Karura forest
Karura forest is another adventurous place you can't miss to visit. Gazetted in 1932, the place is home to indigenous trees that make the air there extremely fresh and cool. Some of the exciting features in the forest include a waterfall, a bamboo forest, Mau caves among others. The main entrance of the forest is located along Limuru road.
Probably the only national park in the world situated just a few kilometres from the city centre. The park is only 7km away from Nairobi CBD. Major wildlife in the park are lions, cheetahs, black rhinos, hyenas, buffaloes, zebras and giraffes.
The park also houses David Sheldrick Trust Elephant Orphan Centre which houses orphaned elephants and rhinos until they are mature enough to be released into the wild.
