Emerging details indicate that the three Cabinet Secretaries who on Monday presented themselves to the DCI headquarters over assassination claims by Deputy President William Ruto had not been summoned.
Peter Munya (Trade), Sicily Kariuki (Health) and Joe Mucheru (ICT) visited the DCI headquarters along Kiambu Road to clear their names, in the absence of their Transport counterpart James Macharia, who has also been implicated.
But fresh details indicate that they availed themselves to the police to preempt claims of being part of the plot, after catching wind that their names had been linked to the alleged plot last weekend.
According to the Nation, the three also were not subjected to any questioning while at the premises, and only took laps within the building before coming out to waiting members of the press to deny involvement.
It has been established that they only hovered around the economic crimes unit for about an hour and walked out, leaving without recording any statement and are yet to be summoned by detectives.
They have been accused of holding meetings at the La Mada Hotel, with an intention to bring down the DP who is eyeing the presidency in the 2022 general elections.
Also yet to be questioned is the DP who is also yet to record a statement or publicly address the matter.
