Renowned lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has weighed in on the arrest of Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko over corruption related charges.
In a tweet on Sunday, the Senior Counsel appeared to suggest that Sonko deserved to be arrested.
He shared a video of Sonko dancing to hit song 'Parte after Parte, and said 'he had fun for too long'.
"I said before that Hon Gov Sonko will go to prison smiling and without any regrets... He had great fun for too long... At our expense," he tweeted.
Sonko was arrested on Friday following a directive from the DPP Noordin Haji.
The governor was on his way to Voi aboard the SGR before he was arrested.
Moments after his arrest, he released a statement terming his woes politically instigated.
He said the EACC has decided to pin him down because of his political stand.
“Reports from EACC that l was arrested while trying to run away are another proof that the body is so much interested in playing politics. Why would l run away? To where and to do what? I am a Kenyan who is always on the move doing what’s good for the people," he said as quoted by Citizen Digital.
