Deputy president Dr William Ruto has suffered yet another blow in his quest for statehouse seat after another leader in his strongholds vows not to support him.
Elgeiyo Marakwet Governor Alex Tolgos is the latest leaders from the DP's stronghold to say that he won't back the second in command for presidential seat come 2022.
The County boss noted that he was was against the DP Ruto's early campaigns saying he wanted a leader who focuses on development issues first.
“As Jubilee government, we should be concerned about fulfilling the promises we made to Kenyans during the 2017 campaigns other than focusing on immature ambitions,” the governor stated.
He said the Deputy President was worried he might not succeed President Uhuru in 2022 the reasons why he started early campaigns.
“If you know that it is automatic to succeed President Kenyatta, what is all the hullabaloo about 2022?," Tolgos added.
Tolgos remarks comes amid growing rift in Jubillee party with the President and former prime minister Raila Odinga opting to use him to popularize BBI reports in Rift valley region.
Tolgos took time to state clear his relationship with the son of former Kenya's president,Gideon Moi saying their relationship was not about politics.
Joshua Kutuny is another former leader in the region who has publicly declared he would not support Ruto's quest for Presidency in 2022.
