Police in Rachuonyo East Sub County in Homa Bay County are investigating an incident where two bodies were found dumped by the roadside on Thursday morning.

According to residents, the bodies were found abandoned along the Sondu-Borabu Road in Koluoch village and had deep cuts an indication that they might have been killed.

The incident was confirmed by area Police Commander Charles Barasa who said that the male bodies of people in their 50s had deep cut injuries in the heads and necks.

Barasa said that his officers are handling the matter as that of persons killed elsewhere and their bodies dumped in the region, adding that investigations have kicked off.

Preliminary investigations showed that the two might have also been hit with crude weapons, resulting in their deaths.

The police boss blamed the incident on an unknown gang, saying that they suspect that it was the working of a group of criminals, with further details remaining unknown.

He noted that marks on their necks indicated that they might have as well been strangled by their assailants.

"Preliminary investigations have revealed that the victims were strangled and hit using crude weapons," Barasa was quoted by the Daily Nation.
