A-49-year old woman has committed suicide in Masinga, Machakos County.
The woman died after committing suicide in Miangeni area on Friday.
Confirming the incident, Miangeni assistant chief Stephen Wambua said the deceased left no suicide note to explain her reasons for taking her life.
Wambua said the woman's body was found dangling from one tree a few metres from her home by passersby who raised alarm.
He said her family members were caught unawares since they had been looking for her.
Wambua observed that suicide cases were slowly creeping in the area.
He warned the residents against taking their own lives.
“There's no valid reason as to why someone should decide to take his/her life, dying solves nothing," Wambua said.
The body was moved to Matuu Mediance Mortuary for preservation.
