Speaking in Kisumu on Monday Buyu said her office has got no bursary allocation but she will make arrangements to make it happen.

“We have no bursary allocation but considering what parents and children are facing right now, we have decided to assist them by paying first term fee to give them time to look for funds from MCA's office, sub counties and governor's office  before second term," she said.

She called on other elected leaders from the county to help students in their areas of jurisdiction who have not reported to school yet.

“I have not said the entire Kisumu County to come for help; I am just saying let us come together as leaders and help the parents who are unable to take their daughters and sons to Form One,” she noted.

She urged parents who are unable to take their children to school to visit her office in each constituency.

One of the parents whose child has benefited from Buyu's kind gesture couldn't hide her joy.

“On 16th I took my child to school, when I got there, I had everything minus school fees so I was told to go back and get the whole amount in order to secure admission for my kid. When I came back, I received a call from the Woman Reps office that I was needed and indeed she helped me. I am so grateful,” one of the parents narrated.
