Machakos County First Lady Lilian Ng'anga, has defended her husband over criticism leveled against him.
In a tweet on Thursday, she praised her husband for being development oriented and enhancing effective service delivery in Machakos.
She took issue with a tweep who appeared to question the wisdom of her husband, and his performance track record.
"In the days when media used to praise him as "the best governor in Kenya", Alfred Mutua bought 70 ambulances, but his county could only afford to hire 10 ambulance drivers," the tweep wrote.
In her response, she expressed shock at the attacks on his husband, stating that the foundation of the attacks were unsubstantiated claims.
She challenged the social media user to name a single county in the country, where the response time to accidents when they occur is under 8 minutes.
"Each day I am shocked by your kind who write things that they have not taken time to verify. Now, tell me...Which other county has an ambulance in every location? ...the same that when an accident occurs, the response time is under 8 mins?" she fired back.
"Do you know how many lives the ambulances have saved? You should be embarrassed, truly," she added.
Governor Mutua is in his second and final term and has announced an intention to run for the presidency.
