Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen has faulted Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho for launching endless attacks against Deputy President William Ruto.
In an interview with NTV on Tuesday, Murkomen said that Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leaders have no respect for the second in command yet they want his allies to embrace the handshake. He divulged that there is no way the allies of the DP will back handshake of Raila Odinga-led camp is ever hurling insults at him.
He pointed out that Joho has been one of the allies of the former Prime Minister who is known for his ruthless attacks against Ruto. Murkomen said that the governor's speech about handshake in Busia some time back did not augur well with him.
"Governor Joho spoke in Busia about the BBI/handshake and said that; they only shake the hand of Pres. Kenyatta but they will continue hammering DP Ruto," he said.
Murkomen also said that the issue of the nation is not an individual affair. He argued that all leaders must come together to ensure that the nation attains its vision before President Kenyatta's term ends.
"The issue in Kenya is individuals and not structures. If we don't address individual behaviors and individual characters we don't move forward as a country," he said.
Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo reminded Murkomen that DP Ruto will not exonerate himself from Uhuru if the government fails to deliver on its promises.
