The Ease of Doing Business in Kenya 2020 Report was released on Thursday in Nairobi in an event which was officiated by Deputy President William Ruto.
The latest findings show that Kenya had improved positions in World Bank’s 2020 Ease of Doing Business index.
According to the report, Kenya moved up 5 positions to reach position 56 out of 190 economies.
''Kenya moved up to 56th position globally out of 190 countries; cementing our steady performance and rewarding the hard work, commitment, dedication and collaboration among Government, development partners and the private sector,'' said DP Ruto.
More so, the same report noted that Kenya was ranked the top in protecting minority investors.
It was also ranked fourth in allowing access to credit among investors and other people.
According to DP Ruto, poor business environment is a major limiting factor for economic growth as it limits opportunities for business.
The country's tremendous move in positions has been attributed to such factors as resolving insolvency and access to electricity.
''The Government has made a deliberate effort to position Kenya as Africa's manufacturing and technology hub; the preferred gateway to Africa for domestic and foreign investors,'' added DP Ruto.
