The political alliance between Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua and his Makueni and Kitui counterparts Kivutha Kibwana and Charity Ngilu can not outdo Wiper Party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr has said.
In an interview on KTN's Point Blank show on Wednesday, Mutula said that the three leaders are wasting their time thinking that they can unseat Kalonzo in the 2022 general elections.
He noted that the former vice president is a smart politician, adding that he will remain a force to reckon with come 2022.
He noted that the leaders from Ukambani region have no choice but to support one of their own to ascend to power in 2022, adding that Kalonzo is the man to watch from the region.
“If I was worried I would say so, the alliance is absolutely insignificant. Governor Mutua and Kivutha are only looking for something to do after the general election, but they can’t unseat Kalonzo in Ukambani,” he said.
Mutula further argued that the Wiper Party has let down the nation for not being very vocal on matters of corruption.
He noted that Kalonzo had raised concerns about cases of loss of public funds but has not been as outspoken as his supporters and other Kenyans expect him to be.
