Without mentioning names, a furious Ruto accused the unnamed officers of chest-thumping, adding that they are serving courtesy of Kenyan voters.

He asked the officials to humble themselves when talking to the people, adding that Uhuru has never ordered any of them to speak on his behalf.

The DP on Sunday said the officials have undermined other people due to the offices they hold in Jubilee administration.

"I want to ask civil servants, those who were given the job by Uhuru Kenyatta, stop chest-thumping, stop undermining other people. The job was given by people," he said.

"Don't think these people are fools because they don't have offices like you. When going to the people, stop pretending that you've been sent by the president. Uhuru has never undermined people," he added.

Earlier in the same function at Lari, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wa had accused Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i of allegedly misusing his powers.

Matiang'i, on Friday, insisted that together with his PS Karanja Kibicho, they take orders directly from the president, a statement indirectly directed to DP Ruto.

“I take full responsibility for any action by the security team, never touch my PS, don’t blame him for any political problem within and without government,” said Matiang'i last week on Friday in Kirinyaga.
