Writing on Twitter on Thursday, the lawyer said that he fully supported the head of state's position on the vexed issue of conflict of interest.

Mr Kipkorir expressed his opposition to legislators and Judicial Service Commission (JSC)  members being allowed to offer legal representations in the courts, terming it as corruption and greed.

"I fully support President Kenyatta on conflict of interest ... One can’t be an MP/Senator or JSC member & practice in our courts .. It’s not just corruption but greed .... You are behaving like an Hyena ... One must choose what they want: Public or Private Service: not Both, " the lawyer said.

Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jr and his Elgeyo Marakwet counterpart Kipchumba Murkomen have come under intense fire from a section of Kenyans for representing embattled Nairobi governor Mike Sonko, citing conflict of interest.

The conflict of interest stems, critics say, from the possibility that the charges that the Nairobi governor is grappling with could very well come up to the Senate.

Governor Sonko faces an array of corruption related charges pressed by the Ethics and Anti- Corruption Commission (EACC).
