The Second Lady thanked the CS for helping her to support female prisoners and give them hope and dignity.

"We would like to thank our CS Dr Fred Matiang'i Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Security in Kenya for the great support and for visiting the Cross Stitch International Exhibition at the Michael Joseph Center this morning," Rachel tweeted.

CS Fred Matiang'i lauded Mrs Ruto's initiative that trains female convicts on embroidery. The beneficiaries are then assured of a market through Mama Rachel Ruto's network.

"Deeply touched by the positive transformation cross stitching has had on women inmates. We thank H.E. Rachel Ruto for the sacrifice she has made to make to make this a success, changing lives, one stitch at a time." CS Matiang'i tweeted.

The project is a great asset to the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government that has several functions including prison services. The project is helping convicts as they serve their jail terms and will make them better members of society once they are freed.

PS Zeinab Hussein and the Commissioner-General Wycliffe O. Ogallo were also present.
