This is amid the current unease in Jubilee government with the relationship between the two seemingly broken beyond repair.

The strained relationship between the Jubilee pair played out openly on Tuesday when the President reshuffled his cabinet with his deputy missing in action amid claims that he had not even been consulted.

However, according to political analyst Isaac Wabuge, Dr Ruto is to blame for his current woes for pushing the President to the wall when he defied his order to stop early campaigns.

"The writings have been on the wall for Ruto. He has been doing things that are coming out that State House has not approved. He now has no option but to do serious soul searching and re-strategize," Wambuge said, as quoted by the Star newspaper.

In a move that was seen to cut the DP to size, former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri was fired from his position.

With 2022 politics gaining momentum, the new political lineup taking shape, Kiunjuri has been gravitating to the Ruto political axis and has been seen by many as the possible running mate of the Deputy President in the2022 statehouse journey.
