Speaking on Wednesday at Riondong’a Primary School, the MP noted that some leaders from the region have been carried away by the raging succession politics, adding that the situation has caused them to forget to implement various development projects.

Ongera who noted that she seeks to equip all schools in the region with water tanks said a majority of the MPs from the area have been engaging in early campaigns forgetting to deliver on their promises.

She said if concerted efforts are not made to cool down the current political rhetoric, some ongoing projects will stall indefinitely.

“Currently there two rival political teams, however, the one dubbed Tangatanga have put the country into an electioneering mood more so in Kisii region as most leaders supporting it are just politicking instead of delivering on their promises,” said Ongera.

The woman rep hit out at some of the elected leaders from the area, accusing them of abandoning projects initiated in the past to participate in political rallies.

DP Ruto is expected to tour the region on Thursday.
