President Uhuru Kenyatta has continued to rally for unity in the country, striking a reconciliatory tone in national discourse.
On Wednesday Uhuru formally unveiled Building Bridges Initiative report at the Bomas of Kenya, where he asked Kenyans to unite.
Speaking during the event, Uhuru asked politicians to disband political factions which have dominated politics in the recent past.
He asked the Kieleweke and Tangatanga troops to call off their activities and walk together as a nation for the purpose of unity.
"Hii Tangatanga, Kieleweke, warembo na Uhuru tuwache na tutembee pamoja," Uhuru said at the function.
(Let us shun this Kieleweke team and Tangatanga and the Team Women for Uhuru).
Tangatanga brigade has been rallying for Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 bid while Kieleweke has been opposing him.
Earlier, Murang'a Woman Representative Sabina Chege also called for the dissolution of Team Embrace and Inua Mama, who has been embroiled in a fierce rivalry.
"As women of this country, we are going to unite. From today, we shall dissolve these factions embrace and Inua Mama for the sake of unity from today," said Chege, a proponent of Team Embrace.
