At Okoth's funeral service in Moi Girls Kibra, a defiant Sonko maintained that the late MP, who died last Friday, had a relationship with Nairobi nominated MCA Anita Muthoni.

The firebrand governor said the two were love birds, adding that they never hid the fact that they were blessed with a son, named Okoth.

“The two love birds did not hide the fact that they shared a son. Unfortunately, today, Anita was stopped at the Lee Funeral Home as she took their son to pay last respect to his father. Who does that?” he posed.

At the podium, Sonko insisted that had it kept silent, the late Ken Okoth would have been unhappy with him, arguing that he had to set his consciousness free.

"I would have betrayed Ken Okoth if I fail to speak about this. He had a relationship with Anita and that it's not a secret. Let the son be recognized. I have to set my consciousness free," he argued.

While Sonko was dropping bombshells, Anita had moved to court to block planned cremation of Mr Okoth, which is scheduled on Saturday.

Senior Principal Magistrate Grace Mmasi issued the injunction pending the hearing and determination of the application.

“It is hereby ordered that in the interim a temporary injunction be and is hereby issued restraining the 1st (Angelina Okoth) and 2nd (Monica Okoth) defendants, either by themselves, their servants or agents, from conducting the burial, interment, cremation and or in any matter whatsoever dispose of the body…” the order seen by Standard Digital read in part.
