Tanzanian singer Rayvanny has set a new record in East Africa after achieving one million views on YouTube within hours.
This is after Rayvanny's teaser video for the song 'Pepeta' in which he has featured Bollywood actress cum singer Nora Fatehi hit one million views within six hours. At the time of the publishing of this article, the teaser had clocked 2,973,520 views with over 1,000 comments in 21 hours.
Prior to this, Diamond Platnumz was holding the record with his song 'Kanyaga' which gained one million views within 13 hours.
Although Rayvanny has not yet commented on his new achievement, his counterpart Diamond Platnumz took to Instagram to express his astonishment at how Rayvanny could break the record only with a teaser.
"#PEPETA Video Teaser by @rayvanny X @norafatehi 1 Million Viewers within 6 hours...imagine jus a teaser and the Song & Video is not even out yet🤔....The world is not fair, you just decided to break our records with only a teaser (Dah kweli dunia haiko fair yani kweli Ukaamua Uvunje rekodi zetu kwa Teaser @rayvanny 😂," Diamond Platnumz wrote on his Instagram page.
Rayvanny enjoys a huge fan base in Kenya. He has worked with various Kenyan musicians including Willy Paul with whom he released the song dubbed 'Mmmmh' and Bahati with whom he produced 'Nikumbushe'.
