The man, Kenneth Okuthe, said that unknown persons have been sending her threats over a land tussle.

He now wants the police to ensure his security is safeguarded. Okuthe, son of Nyongo’s sister, Margaret Awuor Nyongo, said that he feels threatened after he won a case that apportioned him part of the land.

It is reported that the land, which is located in Kisumu county, is valued at Sh200 million.

The first term governor had been sued by the relatives over the piece of land. Two of his nephews had taken him to court after they failed to disagree over the matter.

The complainants lamented that they had been left out of the process of the allocation of the land. According to Okuthe, unknown persons had attempted to abduct him on July, 25.

He claimed that the incident occurred along the Kericho-Kisumu Road. Okuthe also claimed that he could not appear before the Kisumu court where he was to present his side of the story over the case.

“There was a brand new blue car which was rather unusual and as I got to the stage a rather well-built man approached me and asked if we could get a vehicle that early,” he narrated, as quoted by Standard.

He also said that he had written to Chief Justice David Maraga over the manner in which the case was being conducted. He also said that it is evident someone wants him dead.
