Speaking in Emurua Dikiir, Narok County, Ruto assured Kenyans that the process of enumeration will be undertaken to completion before the end of the day as planned by the government.

He said that the exercise will be undertaken in a credible manner to make it easy for future planning.

The DP also dismissed claims that the government intends to doctor the census results for its selfish motives.

“I want to urge all those who have not been counted not to worry they will all be counted. We will make sure that every Kenyan, wherever they are, are counted so that we can get credible and accurate figures,” Ruto said on Friday, as quoted by Capital FM.

He also said that the census will assist the government to develop a comprehensive plan for its citizens noting that there is need for the government to know its population composition to enable it to plan appropriately.

The census exercise that begun last Saturday is scheduled to come to an end on Saturday.

There have been calls from various quarters for the exercise to be extended so as to ensure every Kenyan is enumerated but the government insisted that it will not be extended beyong Saturday.
