The county boss is serving his first term, after coming to office after the 2017 poll, after beating his predecessorJack Ranguma.

Speaking on Friday, the county boss said that he has among others, made major strides in developing the agriculture department, especially the dairy production sector.

He said that his leadership has used Sh9.5 million to purchase dairy cattle for farmers, after the establishment of the Sh123 million United States Agency for International Development-funded dairy multiplication centre.

“We are strengthening dairy co-operative societies by providing them with milk coolers,” the county chief is quoted by the Standard.

He added that similar efforts have been successfully deployed in improving service delivery in health, including spending Sh130 million in upgrading the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital.

He said that the same goes to the business and infrastructure sectors, at a time when his leadership is taking the credit for the refurbished Kisumu Port, funded by the national government.

But his narrative about business comes at a time when hawkers are in a tough situation owing to demolished stalls, both by the county government and the Kenya Railways Corporation.
