A successful relationship needs sacrifice from both partners. Overdependence occurs when a partner relies on the other partner too much to the extent of losing themselves.
The overdependence ushers in the fear of losing your partner. In most cases, it presides over the relationship draining each partner which in turn destroy the relationship.
Here are three these signs you are too dependent on your partner.
1. Unable to find happiness outside your partner
One's partner can make them happy. However, this should not be the only source of happiness. When you notice that you are unable to be happy when your partner is not around you, you are too dependent on them.
2. You become controlling towards your partner
If you find yourself getting mad when your partner does not contact you or when they fail to meet your needs, you are too dependent on them. Being controlling makes one too clingy and you tend to think that by doing so, you will make your partner stay in the relationship.
3. Focusing wholly on the relationship
If you are too dependent on your partner, you will tend to shift your focus from yourself, your career or family and direct it to the relationship. It feels as though one is obsessed with their partners and tends to despise anything that might distract from thinking about their partners.
If you prefer staying in an unhealthy relationship than enduring the pain of separation, you are too dependent on your partner.
